- September: We are back from Summer Break! To start the school year off on a helpful note, here is a presentation by Anne Kuhlmeier, M.A., CCC/SLP, ATP. Making AAC Work in the Classroom is a wonderful resource for choosing and teaching core words and strategies for implementing them in the classroom.
- October: This month's article is geared more towards the therapists and teachers out there. Effects of Communication Partner Instruction on the Communication of Individuals using AAC: A Meta-Analysis by Walsh et al. is an article from the AAC Journal discussing the important of partner training especially in young children who are users of AAC. Aided language stimulation, open-ended questions, and extectant delay is detailed in depth. This is another reminder of the important roles communication partners play and how providing training to them is also an integral part of our job!
